Managing Projects for Oil and Gas Professionals 14-15 August 2013, Capre Town, South Africa

As business becomes more complicated and prone to rapid change, managing work as projects is becoming more and more essential. Project management allows the effective use of limited resources to achieve a unique outcome within a specific period of time. Project Management skills are now professional qualifications in the engineering field. However the basic concepts can be used by anyone in the workplace when faced with a big, important job that doesn’t fit into their day-to-day work.
This hands-on, practical workshop covers the key ideas needed to apply project management skills to the workplace. It will ensure you understand what certified professional project managers can do for an organisation and the background they are coming from. It uses a series of integrated activities to practice each stage of managing a project using case studies from the energy industry. Participants will leave the course with the knowledge and skills needed to managed their work more effectively and successfully participate in projects in the future.
Your expert trainer combines current academic business research with years of hands-on business experience to deliver focused, dynamic courses to clients. He takes participants beyond a simple presentation of facts, to thinking creatively and strategically about the application of knowledge and skills. In his courses, he includes many opportunities for participants to practise skills and to analyse their own success.
Since completing his Doctorate, he has taught, and worked across, a wide range of scientific, technological and business disciplines, dealing with a varying clientele from different countries and age groups. This has given him a keen understanding of what customers require from an organization, and how using this knowledge can benefit the organization. It has also emphasised to him the importance of delivering courses that actively engage the interest of the people he is training, and that have been designed to meet their specific needs and organizational background. Born and raised in Australia, he has worked in the Middle East, Asia and Europe for a variety of international businesses, and academic organisations.
